Anna Abramova, Head of the MGIMO AI Centre, joined the Expert Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States and the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications.The Expert Council deals with the harmonisation of legislation in the field of digitalisation and telecommunications, coordination of joint initiatives of the CIS member states and development of recommendations for the legislative bodies of these countries.
On 20 March, within the framework of the 29th meeting of the RCC Executive Committee, the Expert Council approved the inclusion of a number of initiatives in the Perspective Plan of model lawmaking in the CIS for 2026-2028. Special attention was paid to the discussion of the draft model law ‘On Artificial Intelligence Technologies’. The experts emphasised the need to develop a clear conceptual apparatus, which will be the foundation for further regulation in the field of AI and meta-universes.
The next, 30th meeting of the Expert Council will be held in autumn 2025 within the framework of the forum ‘Artificial Intelligence in Belarus’.
