Director of the MGIMO Artificial Intelligence Centre, Anna Abramova, delivered a presentation on the role of global AI regulation in the development of trade and trade policy at the 4th General Assembly and Science & Innovation Conference of the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), held in Beijing from October 27 to 30, 2025.
The 4th ANSO General Assembly was a landmark event that brought together leading scientists and heads of research institutions from more than 30 countries. ANSO is an international non-governmental organization established in 2018 on the initiative of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 36 other scientific institutions. The Alliance aims to promote multilateral scientific cooperation for the sustainable development of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and the broader global community.
One of the key outcomes of the Assembly was the announcement of a new international research initiative — the International Research Network on AI Development and Governance. The MGIMO AI Centre has joined the project as a participant, and its Director, Anna Abramova, has been invited to join the International Expert Group, which will provide scientific guidance and support for the network’s activities.
