Anna Abramova Director of the MGIMO Centre for AI
Digital economy, trade policy, and international regulation of AI. Anna Abramova has more than 15 years of experience in research and lecturing on AI, digital trade developments, as well as official development assistance in ICT sector. Along with being a Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, she is also Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence at MGIMO-University, Academic Director for the Masters’ Programme on Artificial intelligence. Anna has worked as a consultant for UNCTAD and World Bank, contributed to UNCTAD Information economy report (UNCTAD 2012), UNCTAD Digital economy report (UNCTAD 2019, UNCTAD 2021), publishes articles in peer reviewed journals and conference books. For the past several years, Anna was also member of national delegations to UNESCO and Counsil of Europe, OECD ONE AI expert group on AI classification. Currently, she is the member of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, Committee for AI, the Commission for AI Ethics Code where she also leads the working group on elaboration of methodology for monitoring humanitarian impact of AI systems.
Andrey Ignatiev Research associate
Normative-technical regulation of AI, standardization issues, ethics in the field of AI, and research work Andrey Ignatiev is a member of the AIGO (OECD) expert group, an expert in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 42/ WG 01 "Foundational Standards" and WG 03 "Reliability." He also serves as an expert in the National Technical Committee 164 "Artificial Intelligence." Andrey Ignatiev is a member of the Committee on AI Ethics under the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO, where the Secretariat is part of the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. He actively participates in the working groups associated with international collaboration with UN entities (UNIDO, ITU), BRICS, and the Council of Europe on AI matters. Having held government positions in Russia and abroad related to international economic cooperation, Andrey Ignatiev brings a wealth of experience. Since 2010, he has been engaged in international projects in the field of the digital economy.
