Anna Abramova, Head of the MGIMO AI Centre, has joined the AI Readiness Expert Group of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) formed within the framework of the AI for Good: Innovate for Impact initiative.The goal of the group is to develop and update the AI Readiness Framework, a key tool for assessing the degree of AI integration in various spheres of life, from economy and education to public administration and sustainable development. The AI Readiness Framework helps countries and organisations assess their current level of AI readiness, identify areas for growth and develop practical recommendations.
The panel includes leading experts from the fields of AI technology, economics, social sciences, ethics and performance measurement. Among the participants' primary tasks:
- Developing and refining metrics for assessing AI readiness in light of global challenges;
- Generating indicators and analytical models that enable comprehensive and valid data-driven assessment;
- Addressing the social and ethical dimensions of AI development, from transparency and fairness to preventing bias;
- Harmonising international standards, contributing to global benchmarks for national strategies.
Anna Abramova's appointment confirms MGIMO's active role in shaping the global agenda for responsible and inclusive development of AI technologies.
