Anna Abramova Took Part in a UN Open Meeting on the Launch of the Independent International Scientific Panel on AI
On 6 March, Anna Abramova, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, took part in an open Q&A meeting dedicated to the launch of the world’s first Independent International Scientific Panel on AI. The meeting provided initial clarifications on the composition and mandate of the new panel, while also giving organizations and experts an opportunity to share their views and discuss priorities on the international AI agenda.

The Independent International Scientific Panel on AI was established on 12 February 2026, pursuant to UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/79/325 of 26 August 2025, as a new mechanism to strengthen multilateral digital cooperation and develop independent scientific expertise in support of global AI policy. The Panel’s first meeting was held on 6 March 2026.
