Anna Abramova Participates in Discussion on Global AI Safety and Governance at the World Internet Conference (WIC)
On 20 June 2025, Anna Abramova, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, took part in a seminar of the World Internet Conference (WIC), an international organization headquartered in Beijing and established in 2022 at the initiative of leading technology companies and organizations such as GSMA, CNCERT, CNNIC, Alibaba Group and Tencent.

The event featured a discussion on the progress of the joint study “Exploring Frameworks for Global Artificial Intelligence Safety and Governance,” conducted under the AI Safety and Governance program of the WIC Specialized Committee on AI. The program aims to develop practical recommendations and solutions to ensure global AI safety and to leverage AI effectively for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The final report is planned to be presented at the WIC Wuzhen Summit in November 2025.

During the session, Anna Abramova outlined the MGIMO AI Centre’s expert perspective on possible approaches to global AI regulation and provided comments on the report “Governing AI for Good and for All — Empowering Global Sustainable Development.”
