Panel discussion "Prospects of International Collaboration on AI Issues"
On September 6th, as part of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), a panel discussion titled "Prospects of International Collaboration on AI Issues" took place. As a speaker at the event, the Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence at MGIMO and the head of the Department of Digital Economy and AI, A.V. Abramova, participated.

Anna Vladimirovna discussed the international organizations and platforms that are promising for the development of artificial intelligence: "First and foremost, we need to consider the United Nations system institutions that are already functioning and serve as universal platforms for discussions. The experience of UNESCO and the development of Recommendations has convincingly demonstrated this. Additionally, there are organizations that engage in specialized activities within their mandates while addressing AI-related issues (for example, the WHO). APEC, BRICS, and SCO can become promising platforms for AI development. Active work in these forums has only just begun, for instance, in APEC's research efforts. BRICS and SCO are more flexible platforms due to their smaller number of participating countries. The artificial intelligence industry has reached a level of development where this matter can and should be discussed at regional levels."
