On 31 October, as part of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference of MGIMO MFA of Russia ‘Digital International Relations 2024’, the MGIMO AI Centre and the MGIMO Master's Programme ‘Artificial Intelligence’ held a master class on ‘How to Create and Develop an Interdisciplinary AI Cluster in a Humanitarian University’. The event was held in a hybrid format.
The purpose of the master class was to introduce the participants to successful experience of creating AI training programmes and clusters in a humanities academic environment. Experts from the MGIMO AI Master's Programme and invited specialists shared their experience in implementing a practice-oriented curriculum aimed at training qualified personnel with a broad interdisciplinary vision. Ways of co-operation with business partners and academic institutions were also discussed.
The moderator of the event was A.V. Abramova, Academic Director of the AI Master's Programme. The discussion was attended by representatives of the faculty, IT entrepreneurs and graduates of the programme. The strengths and weaknesses of the training model were discussed. The participants emphasised the importance of interaction between the academic and business environment and shared their experience in creating an effective AI cluster in Russian universities.
The event became an important platform for sharing knowledge about the development of AI programmes in educational institutions, confirming the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the training of specialists.
