The 10th UNECE International PPP Forum took place on 27–29 April 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, hosted by IESE Business School.
The Forum is one of the key international platforms for discussing the development of inclusive, sustainable and environmentally sound infrastructure through public-private partnerships (PPPs). This year, particular attention was given to the implementation of global sustainable development priorities, including the Pact for the Future, the Seville Commitment and the Awaza Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries.
The event brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, the private sector, civil society and academia. Over the course of three days, participants discussed sustainable infrastructure, innovation, the financial sustainability of PPP projects, stakeholder engagement, smart city development, renewable energy and the application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
On 28 April, Anna Abramova, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, spoke at the session “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Transform Public-Private Partnerships for Sustainable Development”. The discussion was moderated by Stacey Sinclair, Partner at Fenwick Elliott LLP.
During the session, experts discussed how artificial intelligence technologies can help enhance the efficiency of PPP projects, improve decision-making, foster innovation and contribute to achieving sustainable development outcomes.
