Round Table on “The AI Agenda in the Global Regulation of the Digital Economy” Was Held as Part of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “MGIMO FinEc Week”
On 2 April, as part of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “MGIMO FinEc Week”, organized by the Faculty of Financial Economics at MGIMO University, a round table titled “The AI Agenda in the Global Regulation of the Digital Economy” was held under the moderation of Anna V. Abramova, PhD in Economics, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre.

The discussion brought together G.O. Myasoedov, Second Secretary of the Department of International Information Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; A.A. Sazhinov, Head of the Project Office of the Digital Attaché Service, FSAI CIT; N.S. Yakunov, Deputy Director of the Department for Strategic Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; D.Yu. Turdakov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Head of the Information Systems Department at the Ivannikov Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and E.D. Bombina, Project Manager in the International Cooperation Unit of SAPFIR, Skolkovo Foundation.

The discussion covered key technical and strategic areas of AI development in Russia and globally, including trusted technologies and the ethical aspects of AI implementation, standardization, the work of international organizations and associations, as well as cooperation and coordination formats in the field of AI regulation. The growing interest in the AI agenda today highlights the need for a comprehensive and systematic approach to these issues, taking into account sector-specific constraints and sensitivities.

Following the discussion, a Q&A session was held with participants attending both in person and online. The participants expressed their hope for continued fruitful cooperation.
