Head of the MGIMO AI Centre, Anna Abramova, Recognised with Presidential Commendation
On 23 June 2025, Anna Vladimirovna Abramova, Head of the MGIMO Artificial Intelligence Centre and Associate Professor at the Faculty of International Economic Relations, was awarded a Presidential Certificate of Honour by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, “for her significant contribution to the implementation of socially important projects.”

This prestigious state recognition was granted in acknowledgement of her active scientific, expert, and educational work in the fields of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, her efforts in fostering international cooperation, and her support for initiatives in education, culture, and sustainable development.

Anna Abramova has led the MGIMO AI Centre since its establishment and serves as the academic supervisor of MGIMO’s Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence (developed jointly with MIPT and supported by the ADV communications group). She is also the initiator of a number of key international cooperation and regulatory initiatives in the AI domain.

Under her leadership, the Centre has become a platform for dialogue between government, academia, and business, and actively contributes to the development of international standards for responsible AI.
