Anna Abramova Addresses the Federation Council on Global AI Governance and International Initiatives
On 1 July, Anna Abramova, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, spoke at a meeting of the Artificial Intelligence section of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The session also featured Alexey Sazhinov, Head of the Project Office for the "Digital Attaché" service at the Federal State Autonomous Institution “CIT” and a staff member of the MGIMO AI Centre.

In her address, Anna Abramova presented the work of the UN High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the key provisions of its final report, “Governing AI for Humanity.” She focused in particular on the current global AI landscape, international efforts to develop coordinated regulatory approaches, and the central role played by UN bodies in shaping these frameworks.

The meeting was attended by members of the Federation Council, representatives of relevant federal executive authorities, major Russian IT companies, and the academic and expert community.
