9 July at the AI for Good Summit: Women in ICT, the “Leadership Circle” Lab, and the AI Skills Coalition Meeting
On 9 July 2026, the ITU AI for Good Summit continued its work in Geneva. Anna Abramova, Director of the MGIMO AI Centre, took part in events of the Network of Women Ministers and Leaders in ICT — the Women in ICT breakfast and the “Leadership Circle” lab — as well as in the annual partner meeting of the AI Skills Coalition.
The Network of Women Ministers and Leaders in ICT brought together decision-makers to exchange views on the practical realities of leading digital transformation and shaping the future of AI governance. The event is becoming a regular fixture on the sidelines of the Summit. Its agenda was a fairly traditional one — inequality and the ways to reduce it. Yet it is precisely events of this kind that make it possible to launch real projects quickly and to bring their results to new countries.
The “Leadership Circle” lab focused on the theme “Gender-Responsive AI Standards: From Rhetoric to Reality”. Participants discussed how to translate gender-equality commitments into concrete institutional solutions, foster international cooperation and develop more inclusive approaches to digital transformation and AI regulation.
The AI Skills Coalition partner annual meeting was devoted to developing AI competencies within the “AI for Good” ecosystem, exploring new forms of cooperation, launching joint initiatives and aligning further directions of work. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for scaling up joint programmes and strengthening coordination in AI skills development.
The MGIMO AI Centre joined the AI Skills Coalition initiative in 2025; in the spring of 2026, this work took on a practical dimension with the launch of the first joint projects.
