AI in Creative Industries: Shaping a Global Market
The analytical paper examines the impact of AI technologies on the structure and on the mechanisms of creation and distribution of creative content. The creative industries are regarded as a strategically important sector of the economy and culture with high potential for innovative growth, export of creative content, and transformation of employment in the context of digital transformation. The paper systematically develops typologies of the creative industries and their classifications; it provides a comprehensive analysis of demand formation with respect to key actors, motivations, drivers, and barriers. On this basis, proposals are formulated for services and business models that shape the market ecosystem. Separate sections are devoted to the international and regulatory contexts, ethical challenges, and the practical outcomes of discussions. The paper’s findings were piloted at the Center’s conferences and roundtables. The final part of the document offers practical recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers on managing risks and harnessing the opportunities of AI in the creative industries.
