On February 20-21, the Euro-Asian IT Forum “Digital Sovereignty as the basis for long-term international cooperation” was held in Moscow
The international event was attended by heads of relevant government bodies in Russia and foreign countries, directors of the largest IT companies, rectors of higher educational institutions, and representatives of development institutions.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko spoke at the opening of the forum; he focused on Russia’s competitiveness in the digital economy and the country’s key achievements in this area. This flag was picked up by the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev, who presented information about the new national project “Data Economy”, summed up the results of the previous period in the development of the digital economy, and spoke about the scale of infrastructure development and key technologies of digital transformation in Russia.

The UN Secretary General's Envoy for Technology, Amandeep Singh Gill, spoke at the plenary session of the Euro-Asian IT Forum. In his speech, Amandeep Singh Gill emphasized the importance of global dialogue and spoke about opportunities and progress under the Global Digital Compact. In addition, he emphasized the dual nature of technology, when on the one hand it promotes development, and on the other it carries risks. That is why further strengthening of international cooperation is necessary to ensure development.

Among the meeting participants were also the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union Cosmas Zavazava, the Minister of Information Technology Industry of the DPRK Chu Yong Il, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Oman Ali Al Shidhani, the Deputy Minister of Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Meysam Abedi and Dima Al-Yahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization.

The forum program included a plenary session dedicated to the development of state digital ecosystems, a round table for heads of organizations responsible for the digital transformation of the public sector, and three panel sessions: “Information security of the state in the digital era”, “Training personnel for digital public administration”, “Smart cities and regions." Experts discussed current trends in digital transformation and promising areas for the development of international cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.

On February 20, Anna Abramova, director of the MGIMO AI Centre, presented the results of the interim report of the UN High-Level Advisory Body on AI during the session “Digital transformation of public administration based on platform solutions.”
Also on February 21, as part of the forum, a youth scientific and practical conference “Building a digital state: opportunities and limitations” was held. The session was moderated by Anna Abramova.
